7 BEACH WEDDING MUST-HAVE IDEAS

The Philippines have some of the best beaches in the world. It is not surprising that a lot folks do like to celebrate their holy matrimony in beaches in Boracay, Batangas, La Union, Palawan, Cebu and other beach wedding destinations in the country.

As Philippine coordinators, we delight in serving couples from start to finish by doing a full-coordination wedding. Beach weddings is no different.

Based from our experience as Beach wedding coordinators, we’ve compiled some of the basic must haves that you may like to consider when tying-the-knot by the sea.

1) THIRST FIRST – Remember it’s a beach wedding and the sun is definitely part of the fun of having such a celebration. Make sure that your guests remain cool and hydrated with lots of bottled water or any source of flowing drinking water that is conveniently in the area.

2) FANS IN HAND – Don’t lose the fun in your wedding day/debut/party because of the heat. You can use fans as a general souvenir, but at the same time will help your guests feel the heat lesser.

3) BEAUTY IN A BAG – Another souvenir that you may like to consider during your beach wedding, is a beauty bag you can place in each of the guests’ room. The beauty bag can be per room or given individually.

The beauty bag could contain a shampoo, conditioner, bar of soap, towels and face towels. You can personalize this by either placing a ribbon of your theme color and tags or really have supplier place stickers of your names/monograms on it. You may also add other stuff like deodorant, perfume, make-up.

4) TOWEL POWER – Never underestimate a towel and face towels as souvenirs. Aside from the fact that can be pretty handy and practical to have as a give-away because your guests can really use them during their stay at the resort you’re in, but you may also have them folded in such a way that it can look pretty cool – say a cake, an animal like a rabbit etc.

5) FLIP-FLOPS (or any alternative footwear) – For obvious reasons, flip-flops and similar alternative footwear would be very good souvenirs for obvious reasons. Having a beach wedding there are a lot of sand in the area. To have your guest wear more comfortable footwear would enhance their pleasant experience.

6) EMBROIDERED PILLOWS/TABLE NAPKINS – During first beach wedding I had as an events coordinator, the couple had low tables (Japanese-style low tables) what they used as chairs are pillows with the guest’s name on it. This helped to ensure that guest would sit on their designated area, it has additional purposes such as a seat for the guests and a cool take home souvenir.

Table napkins can be embroidered (and you don’t have to wait for a beach wedding to use it). Of course, you can’t sit on the said table napkin but it can be used as a nameplate for your guests.

7) UNFORGETTABLE UMBRELLAS – During the same beach wedding, two umbrellas were used as the “door” to provide the surprise grand entrance of the bride of the ceremony. That was pretty cool since a beach doesn’t have a doors, it was a unique alternative than just having curtains at the venues. You can also use these umbrellas as a wedding favor.
